Children design a limited collection of soft toys for a good cause in a contest organized by IKEA
For a second consecutive year, IKEA’s “Magical contest for children and their fantastic friends[IS1] ” is to transform 10 children’s wonderous characters into real soft toys for a good cause. SAGOSKATT, the limited collection which is the result of last year’s drawings from all over the world, is part of the “Soft toys for Education” initiative, and since November 2015, they are offered in all IKEA stores around the world.
2nd November 2015, Sofia - As of 2nd November 2015, children in Bulgaria have again been presented with the opportunity to draw their unique fantastic hero that can be turned into a real soft toy thanks to IKEA’s annual child drawing contest. 20 finalists from the country will have the opportunity to compete with drawings from all over the world in the global stage of the contest. A special jury of product designers and IKEA specialists from Sweden will select ten global winners whose characters will become part of the limited edition of soft toys with a cause for the year 2016.
The “Magical contest for children and their fantastic friends” initiative is taking place for a second consecutive year in Bulgaria. In the period between 2nd and 22nd November, all children up to the age of 12 can participate in the contest by uploading their drawing to ikeaplay.bg or by submitting it in the “Customer service” department in any IKEA store. This year, those who visit the IKEA website will once again have the opportunity to vote for the drawings they favor the most, and the three drawings that gain the most votes will automatically participate in the final 20. The other 17 finalists will be selected by a jury which, as tradition has established, is represented by Iva Doychinova, a prominent Radio host who wakes up the listeners of radio FM+ with her talk show ”Iva from morning to lunch” .
The names of the 20 finalists from Bulgaria whose fantastic characters will compete in Sweden will be announced on 7th December.
As of November 2015, IKEA stores all over the world are offering the SAGOSKATT limited collection which came to life thanks to last year’s winners of the global stage of the contest.
“These plush toys are entertaining and truly fantastic but they also carry a special meaning. The IKEA Foundation donates 1 euro to UNICEF and Save the Children for every sold toy, which means that children help children have a better future” said Bodil Frijofsson, Senior product developer for IKEA in Sweden.
