UNICEF supported service will help vulnerable children and families
11th May 2016, Nova Zagora- Community Support Centre was launched today at the city of Nova Zagora. The new community support service that was established with the support of UNICEF, commence its work as an state delegated activity in support of the children in Nova Zagora municipality.

"Unfortunately we live in a society where the gap of inequalities is expanding and everyone has to work for its closing - for the best interest of the children, especially the most disadvantaged ones. The centre uses the methodology adopted by the state and we are excited by this fact, because only together - local, regional and national authorities, in partnership with UNICEF - can achieve better protection for the children and adolescents and support families and their communities, because we all want to live in a world where all children have equal chances”, said Mrs. Maria Jesus Conde, UNICEF Representative in Bulgaria.
"The centre will function as a state delegated activity and this is very important, because only when we help each other - local, national authorities and partners as UNICEF - can we go ahead and ensure the development of all children. That is why I wish the team a lot of patience, perseverance, dedication and success to the team - because their success is success of the children too!”, said Mr. Nikolay Grozev, Mayor of the city of Nova Zagora.
The Community Centre for Support is implemented in partnership between UNICEF and the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the State Agency for Child Protection, the State Agency for Social Assistance, and Central Commission for Prevention of Antisocial Behavior of Minors, and the Municipalities in Sliven regions, and is implemented with the financial assistance provided by French Natcom for UNICEF.
